What editorial wedding photography means

Editorial wedding photography borrows from fashion and magazine work. Instead of only recording what happens, the photographer shapes the frame: choosing the light, the spot within your venue, the pose and the styling details, so the portraits look like a considered shoot rather than a snapshot.

It sits alongside candid coverage of the ceremony, the speeches and the people you love, and you get both. It suits couples who enjoy strong outfits, jewellery and detail and are happy to give the portraits some time on the day. If you would prefer no posed photographs at all, a documentary-only photographer may suit you better, and we will tell you so.

How we work on the day

Photographers and cinematographers work as one team and plan the day together, so the stills and the film support each other instead of competing for the same moment. In practice that means:

• A plan before the day. We agree a timeline and a short shot list with you, including the family groups and the portraits that matter most.
• Directed portrait time. We set aside time for couple portraits and use the light and the space at your venue.
• Candid coverage. The ceremony, speeches, dancing and small moments are photographed as they happen.
• Detail shots. Rings, jewellery, outfits and styling get their own frames. Here is why detail shots matter.

Wedding packages and prices

Our wedding packages start at £700 for a four-hour elopement with one photographer and 150+ edited photos. Essential is £1,500 for four hours with a photographer and a cinematographer, 200+ edited photos, a promo video and a final video. Signature is £2,800 for eight hours with two photographers and a cinematographer, 400+ edited photos, a wedding promo video, a social media reel, a final wedding film and an editorial session with Akib Rayhan. Luxe is £4,500 for full-day coverage with three photographers, two cinematographers and drone shot coverage, 600+ edited photos, a cinematic promo film, three social media reels, a 30–45 minute final film, a premium printed album, a same-day highlight preview and an editorial session with Akib Rayhan.

Editorial wedding photography questions

What is the difference between editorial and documentary wedding photography?

Documentary photographers mostly observe and capture the day as it unfolds. Editorial photographers also direct portraits, with styling and light, as in a magazine shoot. We do both: directed portraits plus candid coverage of the day.

How much does an editorial wedding photographer cost in London?

It depends on the hours, the size of the team and whether film is included. Our packages start at £700 for a four-hour elopement and go up to £4,500 for Luxe, and multi-day or destination weddings are quoted individually.

Do you offer wedding film as well as photography?

Yes. Essential, Signature and Luxe include a promo video and a final wedding film, and Luxe adds drone shot coverage. Photographers and cinematographers work together on the day.

Do you photograph weddings outside London?

Yes. We are based in London and work worldwide. Destination and multi-day weddings are quoted individually, so send us your date and location.
